Albert Ludwigs Universitaet Freiburg
Public research university located in Freiburg im Breisgau (Germany). ALU was founded in 1457, being the fifth-oldest university in Germany, with a long tradition of teaching the humanities, social sciences and natural sciences and technology. The university is made up of 11 faculties and attracts students from across Germany as well as from over 120 other countries. The University of Freiburg is one of Europe’s strongest research universities. Thanks to its broad spectrum of academic fields, the University of Freiburg has great potential for innovative fundamental research, as well as cooperation with industry, specially in the fields of Renewable Energies and the Green Economy. ALU is also a member of ASEA-Uninet, a network of universities consisting of European and South-East Asian universities with the goal of promoting continuous internationalization of education and research.
