The Higher Education (HE) Department of the MOES, is dedicated to the management of the HE sector, both public and private, in the whole region. This Department is in charge of managing, promoting and supporting HE in order to fulfill its mission which is to shape skilled academics and researchers in line with the needs of socio-economic development. MOES is investing in building infrastructure in the universities as well as improving policies for the public and private sectors, in order to develop HE both in quantity and quality. Among its main activities, it is notable to highlight the promotion of learning (research and experimentation in HEIs) and the management of Science and Technology Research in Lao HEIs.
